A recent report by Accenture indicates that the window for significant expansion in outsourcing for Indonesia may be closing quicker than expected. Indonesian officials had hoped that with the re-establishment of civil order, foreign investors would flock to take advantage of the region’s low wages and educated workforce. The maturing of the Chinese and Indian outsourcing markets, however, have taught large companies a few lessons about outsourcing, namely that a successful long-term strategy requires more educated workers per capita than Indonesia has.
